QUality Assurance
The quality of vessels that exits Tuong Aik Shipyard is upheld to the highest level in the industry. Quality, responsibility, authority, and organization are emphasized and described in great depth in the company's quality manual. Thus, each vessel that exits our shipyard is of the same standard and quality.
Tuong Aik Shipyard (TAS) is certified by Bureau Veritas for ISO 9001:2000 standard (Quality Management Systems). Moreover, testing procedures are outlined in detail in the quality manual to ensure that vessels are consistently constructed.
Inspections and Test Plan is available for each projects as per contracts. Inspection and Test Plan are very extensive and comes with a comprehensive document. The Shipyard is following the International Association of Classification Societies Quality Standard approved by all Major Classification Societies. |
International classification policy
The shipyard has constructed vessels according to the stringent requirements of International Classification Societies namely Bureau Veritas - France, American Bureau of Shipping - USA, DNV·GL - Norway, ClassNK - Japan.
Tuong Aik Shipyard (TAS) based on its history of constructing various vessels has built up an image for high degree of professionalism, technical excellence, and a high standard of workmanship. During various stages of vessel construction, TAS's own quality control cell will carry out inspection on the vessels e.g. plate preparation, units assembly, and fitting out in the order. These inspections are to ensure that the materials and workmanship are of the highest quality. Quality of welding is a crucial determinants in shipbuilding. Hence, TAS's quality control cell pays extra attention during welding phase to assure that the welding done conforms to the best shipbuilding standards. When receipt of approval from various International Classification Societies is received, the vessels will undergo a test performed by TAS's X-ray technician at the shipyard's in-house radiography facility to ensure the quality of workmanship on the vessels. |
